Having retired from one career, I quickly found myself asking, “Now what?” Followed closely, sometimes in terror, when realizing the years remaining are far fewer than those already lived. And if I do not do this now, there will be no when.

The desire of my heart has always been to be a writer. And as much as aging changes perspective, even advancing years cannot suppress the childhood dream of becoming something more. For climbing to the career summit, anchored to a sheer cliff face by to-do lists, achievement rungs, the perpetual grind of pleasing others, year-after-year building status, prestige, or wealth, in the end, never fulfills.

Contentment is found only in the quiet, fleeting moments of clarity and insight overriding the urgent. When pausing in life creates a turning point, allowing you to catch your breath and resurrect what has always been pumping through your heart…
